Usage

Just include the template in the page where you want the links inserted. The artist can be given as a named parameter (artist) or as the first unnamed parameter; if omitted, the title of the page including the template will be assumed to be the artist name.

Other optional parameters can be specified:

  • official: full URL of the artist official page, no default.
  • wikipedia: Name of the Wikipedia artist article, defaults to the article named artist.
  • allmusic: ID of the All Music artist page, defaults to an artist search.
  • lastfm: artist part of the Last.fm URL for the artist, defaults to {{urlencode:artist}}.
  • musicbrainz: html name for artist page at MusicBrainz, defaults to an artist search.
  • discogs: artist part of the Discogs URL for the artist, defaults to {{urlencode:artist}}.

Examples

Assumming the artist Mark Lanegan, the template can be inserted in the following ways:

  • Verbose, specify all parameters:
{{artist external links|artist=Mark Lanegan
| official = http://www.marklanegan.com
| wikipedia = Mark Lanegan
| allmusic = 11:dm8zefqkhgfo
| lastfm = Mark+Lanegan
| musicbrainz = a9126556-f555-4920-9617-6e013f8228a7
| discogs = Mark+Lanegan
}}
  • Less verbose, specify only needed parameters:
{{artist external links|Mark Lanegan
| official = http://www.marklanegan.com
| allmusic = 11:dm8zefqkhgfo
| musicbrainz = a9126556-f555-4920-9617-6e013f8228a7
}}
{{artist external links
| official = http://www.marklanegan.com
| allmusic = 11:dm8zefqkhgfo
| musicbrainz = a9126556-f555-4920-9617-6e013f8228a7
}}
