Wrong instructions?
I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the instructions I wrote are accurate. I've removed the part of the instructions that explained how to use the script without the ".bat" wrapper simply because invoking Ruby directly never seemed to work (not for me at least). Besides, since v0.8 the "lyriki.bat" file is included with the script so there's really no need to use Ruby directly. It's both easier to explain and easier to set up this way. --Attendant 05:34, 8 November 2006 (PST)
- Unless I'm mistaken, the lyriki.bat included with Lyriki will only properly launch with Tcl/TK. The GTK toolkit requires the batchfile to call Ruby directly with the .bat file. However, if this is tested, feel free to call me a dunce. Just the directions changing so drastically from what I used and tested, seemed odd and doesn't seem like it'd work with the things I thought were the problem ^^;. --Nanenj 08:10, 8 November 2006 (PST)
- The GUI toolkit election has nothing to do with which of the methods to run the script works better (using the ".bat" file or calling ruby.exe directly). And yes, the method I explained was tested with both GTK and Tcl/TK. --Attendant 19:41, 8 November 2006 (PST)
- My bad then, you have my apologies. --Nanenj 08:29, 9 November 2006 (PST)
AMIP
darn, if only AMIP worked with WMP hehe. --ahoier 07:53, 11 November 2006 (PST)
kdebindings
Wiki-Lyrics used to work without the ruby-qt bindings... I'm assuming it's because I have kdebindings installed (the packages conflict). Is there any way to get the script working with kdebindings again? --MindlessXD 16:43, 15 May 2007 (PDT)
- The script doesn't use any kde bindings at all so their presence shouldn't interfere with it. As of version 0.11 I've added support for qt4 bindings, they are not supposed to conflict with qt3 bindings but still, that might be the problem. Try running this from the console and let me know what happens:
$HOME/.kde/share/apps/amarok/scripts/wiki_lyrics/amarok/amaroklyricsmanager.rb

- Workaround this coming soon. Stay tuned! :) --Attendant 20:17, 22 May 2007 (PDT)
- Latest version seems to be working :D --MindlessXD 21:06, 28 May 2007 (PDT)
:( can't submit using wiki-lyriki
as stated in http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=35151, Adding content fails and instead of showing the page of lyriki's lyrics edit, it goes to /home/pedro/.kde3.5/share/apps/amarok/scripts/wiki_lyrics/amarok/ (if have it already) and to my home folder, if i don't.
it used to work before i unistalled the previous version to this one: Wiki-Lyrics v0.11.1
Also, although very useful, the "automatic" submiter always returns with error (just "can't submit...."). It does log in to my account well.
can i help? i find this plugin very useful :D PedroCarvalho 17:28, 22 May 2007 (PDT)
- Could you, please, better explain the use case and/or the problem?
- I still don't understand enough to even begin to search what's wrong... :S
- --Attendant 20:14, 22 May 2007 (PDT)
- sorry, it's like this:
- if i try to submit a song's lyric to lyriki, instead of opening a new browser page on the lyriki site, it opens a page in that directory. like i said in the kde-apps page, i've tried to figure out where that button link is define in the source code, but i didn't find it... - i've also had that problem had found the answer here http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=35151&forumpage=5
- mainly, just remove the sing365 from the accepted plugins and restart the lyriki script PedroCarvalho 10:36, 1 July 2007 (PDT)
v0.12.1
the Amarok 'submitting cover' status message is broken... it displays '%1 by %2' instead of the album and artist names. --MindlessXD 18:57, 9 August 2007 (PDT)
Also, feature request: retry failed lyrics submissions, at least once. Perhaps put them in a queue. --MindlessXD 19:12, 9 August 2007 (PDT)
Needs a serious revamp...
Im sorry, but this whole page did not help me at all with getting this set up. Could someone please rewrite/add to this page to explain how to get it set up easier? --Sidewinded 01:04, 18 February 2008 (PST)
